We appreciate the support of Senator Adam Hinds, Chairman Michael Rodrigues and Senate President Karen Spilka in their support of the summer camp industry. In response to the dire financial needs faced by licensed summer camps this summer, the Senate included $3,000,000 in COVID-19 response funds for licensed summer camps operating this summer to cover unanticipated COVID-19 related costs.
“Summer camps are a critical part of the child care system. This grant program ensures that camps can navigate and operate during the pandemic in a safe and healthy way all while ensuring children have the opportunity to learn and grow at camp.”
This fund will help the 100+ day camps across the Commonwealth that have been able to operate this summer with the increased costs associated with public health and safety requirements to protect against the novel coronavirus.
We look forward to working with our supporters in the House of Representatives to preserve this funding.
